Pisces is one of the sips of duality where for mankind we have the fusion or blending of Soul and Form, producing the manifestation of Christ Incarnate, the perfected individual Soul bringing man the microcosm and God the macrocosm to their destined goal.

The goal of Deity as yet remains a mystery to man and we need to keep in mind that our finite minds will interpret this according to our own limited instruments of perception and this Destiny of divinity may be vastly different to what we are able to surmise.

This mechanism for Divine Perception has not yet been developed in the human family and is only as yet developed to some measure of usefulness in the initiate of the third degree. Let us always keep this in mind and remember it, giving ourselves a just sense of proportion to our attempts at interpretation of the Plans & Purpose of Deity. Later we will look at how the role of mediator is part of the Pisces experience and, as the states of consciousness unfold, we become able to interpret more effectively and accurately the plan and purpose of Deity.

In Pisces we have the Captive soul in the early stages of evolution, captured by imprisonment in substance, the house of matter as it links itself to form. Here we see the relevance of the symbol of Pisces ... the two fishes linked together by a band ... one fish standing for Soul and the other for Personality or the Form nature. Later the position is reversed and the Personality is captured by the Soul and this occurs with the reversal of the wheel and then the dual bondage is brought to its final close and completion when the complete release of the Life aspect from the life of Form takes place ... such is the task of the World Saviour of which this sign produces. The prodigal Son then returns from whence he came ... to the Father's home and in the act of turning back...'SAVES'.

In these few words we have illustrated The relationship existing to the three keynotes of Pisces and it's dual expression:- 1. Bondage or captivity; 2. Renunciation or Detachment; 3. Sacrifice and death.

It is said that the Lords of Will and Sacrifice, who are ourselves essentially ... qualified by love, knowledge and persevering devotion seek to bring about the death of form in it's occult significance, consequently releasing the indwelling lives into a higher state of Consciousness. This is the subjective purpose underlying the sacrifice of these Divine Lives. Sacrifice is in reality a taken on and not a giving up. Of this process, all the World Saviours ‑ past, present and future are the eternal guarantee.

People born in this sign are frequently found serving humanity and ministering to it's needs in some way, especially in the Nursing profession. Thus preparing for the final sacrifice in Pisces which "absorbs back into the originating source." As disciples we need to realise that the life of service to which we are all called, with a directed intent to serve, constitutes a scientific mode of achieving release. Aquarius, being the sign of World Service and the World Server provides the energy field whereby the lesson is finally learned which produces the World Saviours, in Pisces.

Pisces is one of the arms of the Mutable Cross, the Cross of repeated incarnations and experiments leading to successive and continuous expansions of consiousness, the consciousness of this cross being that of mass consiousness, and we are therefore, concerned with mass instinctual consciousness, merging then into intellectual consciousness.

Mass is mediumistic and eventually this mass consciousness is unfolded into the group consiousness of the three higher kingdoms through the Mediatorship of the human kingdom, which is peculiarly designed to be the means of relationship between the Higher and Lower kingdoms, thus fulfilling the Human destiny of being the "World Saviour".

Mediumship is expressive of mass consciousness ‑ impressibility, negativity and receptivity and, as the hidden germ of Christ Life makes it's present felt in increasing measures, the stage is reached where the Fixed cross of the Heavens becomes the greater conditioning energy and the expression of man, the mediator, can manifest. Let us look at what the imprisoned Soul and the personality undertake in the process of transmuting the Qualities of some of the pairs of opposites in this dual sign,

  1. The lower nature into the higher manifestation
  2. The lower psychical powers into the higher spiritual correspondences i.e.: Mediumship into Mediatorship.
  3. Spiritual and mental inhibition into Soul expression and mental sensitivity.
  4. Devotion to the needs of the self into developed devotion and response to the needs of humanity.
  5. Attachment to environment and personality conditions (identification with form) into detachment from form and the ability to identify with the Soul.

It is our task as Disciples to achieve intelligent and active response to the energies released and earlier mastered on this Mutable Cross, and to relate them to the potencies let loose upon us whilst crucified upon the Fixed Cross of the Heavens, thus subordinating the Mutable Cross energies to the Fixed Cross energies, and preparing us for the twelve great test The Twelve Labours of Hercules, which the experience on these two crosses gives to us.

Pisces governs the feet we are informed, and hence the whole thought of progress, of attaining the goal and the treading of the Path of Return has been the underlying spiritual revelation of the great cycle we are passing through and also in the Piscean Age, the lesser cycle, out of which we are moving. It is said that "What faith... Pisces... has prepared us for... We shall have knowledge of in Aquarius.”

Once we are upon or nearing the Path we increasingly become creative in the higher sense, and, the physical generative processes should give place esoterically to regeneration and to creation upon the mental plane instead of only upon the physical plane. This higher creative functioning becomes possible under the influence of aspiration and intuition.

When we step upon the Path spiritually in full consciousness the old keynote of "And the Word said, Go forth into matter "changes into the command of the Soul to it's instrument the personality, "I Leave the Father's Home, and, turning back, I Save".
