"Water of Life am I, poured forth for thirsty men".

Aquarius is of supreme importance to us in our solar system at this time; it is the sign into which the sun is rapidly moving and its influence is gaining in momentum and potency with each passing decade. The increasing influence of Aquarius is therefore largely responsible for the changes now being effected throughout our planetary life and in all kingdoms of nature.

Because it is an air sign, the Aquarian influence is pervasive and interpenetrating. It affects consciousness, which in turn affects the outer forms of life. In fact, the Aquarian age, which is so much a part of human awareness today, is more a matter of consciousness than of time. Those members of the human family who respond to the principles and ideals inherent in Aquarius are already Aquarian in consciousness and in activity, although humanity as a whole is still struggling through a period of transition out of Pisces. The consciousness of the true Aquarian has expanded from the intense self‑awareness of the average man into the group awareness of the world server. The individual becomes the universal, without the least losing his individualised spiritual identity.

Most of us are familiar with the well known Aquarian characteristics of service, brotherhood, love and inclusiveness. The outstanding keynotes of this sign are: 1.a sensitive humanitarian awareness; 2.service of humanity, and 3.action on behalf of Hierarchy. These are the qualities of a world ' server as one who is inclusive of Hierarchy and humanity, of the Plan, of those whom the Plan serves, and those who serve the Plan.

The dominant influence at this full moon Festival o Aquarius stimulates the spiritual capacity of man to love and to serve his fellowmen, to become inclusive and compassionate, and to share his own resources freely and fully in seeking to meet the needs he recognises. Such an influence is greatly needed in a world where humanity has crystalised into a condition of selfishness and separateness. At the end of the Piscean era this crystalisation has become pronounced and blatant, a familiar and an accepted way of life. Yet in the long run nothing can withstand the potent energies pouring through the constellation Aquarius. These energies are dominated by the second ray of love and wisdom, the fourth ray of harmony through conflict, and the seventh ray of order and organisation with its power to establish relationships and to anchor spiritual energy in material form.

Experience is extended and consciousness expanded by these energies. They are rapidly becoming an irresistible force sweeping mankind forward into the new age in spite of himself and his Piscean hangovers and resistances. The blocks to progress which now loom so large and tend to depress and discourage the pioneering spirit of man, are our own creation. They represent the sum total of our as yet untransformed attitudes of mind and heart. But what man has created he can change, or discard, to build anew according to the changing requirements of today's world.

The Aquarian state of consciousness, as a pervasive force in many today, cannot fail to stimulate change in the consciousness of the race of men as a whole. To the extent that the world servers within the human kingdom can maintain their poise within the stream of Aquarian energy, receiving, giving and living the power and love available to them, so will they  serve to‑ irradiate and transform the whole human environment.

Aquarius is a sign of consummation. The long effort of the soul to control the personality on the path of discipleship culminates in Aquarius and the disciple on, technically speaking, to the experience of the path of initiation. Central to all experience in the life of a disciple, influenced by Aquarius, is the beauty of group life, group good and group service.

The most vital aspect of this type of group consciousness is the realisation of a subjective synthesis existing within the worldwide group of servers and the effectiveness of subjective work in which many participate although widely separated physically and personally unknown to one another. Here again is an acknowledgement of the power and effectiveness of meditation work carried on regularly and rhythmically by world wide groups. Even without conscious knowledge of the fact, individuals and groups are united in such, a service and in unity is strength. The link between humanity and Hierarchy is strengthened; and the channel of energy communications is also strengthened. The flow of energy is more potent and the response within the consciousness of humanity more spontaneous.

As the full moon Festival in Aquarius comes around year after year, we can consciously use the opportunity and the available energies to help lift and expand the consciousness of men forward into the new age of Aquarius. Opportunity, Illumination and Brotherhood are three gifts to be conferred upon mankind during the Aquarian era; opportunity to create the needed changes; the spreading of the light of the soul, intuitive and illuminating; and the growth of right human relationships, unity and brotherhood.

Aquarius is the water carrier, the man bearing a pitcher of water on his shoulder to be given freely on demand to meet a need. Water is the symbol of life, the living quality of the spirit in man. The keynote of the disciple in Aquarius, as the world server, provides a seed thought for meditation which sums up and includes all the unfolding potency of the new age. "Water of life am I, poured forth for thirsty men".
